Great music doc from the mid 70”s- early 80’s with session player’s interviews and insight, the fan memories are so relatable. Yacht rock: a DOCKumentary… cleaver title

I can’t help hating and loving this. This was my era. Ugly people singing beautiful tunes. Though documentary taught me that all the artists were whores.

m a theme party promoter. Yacht Rock is a popular one, “Do it Again” and “Rikki Don’t Lose that Number” are played at every Yacht Rock party.

Steely Dan were a jazz rock band with dark cynical lyrics and biting wit. The band took it’s name from a s*x toy in William S Burroughs’ novel Naked Lunch about an opioid addict. Do it Again is about murder, infidelity and addiction. And Rikki Don’t Lose that Number is about a guy seducing his friend’s wife. They were never a feel good Yacht Rock band.
