Based on a story (book) by Andrey Platonov Semion. This story took place in the old Russia, it was one of those years when millions of peasants around the country were suffering from hunger because of the bad crops. Hungreds has died. A 7 year old boy Semion is the oldest son in a poor Russian family, he has to look after his younger brothers and to help the mother around the house. He’s tired of all the duties, so he is asking his mother not to give birth to more children, but she is pregnant again. Appearing of a newborn girl in the family made a dramatic change in their lives. |
