Details:

This annual event features three ensembles - 60 cellos, 40 saxophones, and a brass and woodwind ensemble - conducted by School of Music faculty members Hans-Jørgen Jensen, Frederick Hemke, Victor Yampolsky, Gail Williams and Mallory Thompson, performing against the backdrop of downtown Chicago’s most scenic outdoor stage. Program highlights include the cello ensemble from Barber’s ADAGIO FOR STRINGS; the saxophone ensemble from Bernstein’s CANDIDE Overture and Gershwin’s RHAPSODY IN BLUE; and the wind ensemble in Strauss’ ALPINE SYMPHONY.”
