This film is a sleeper. It’s surprising it’s not better know. Super unique, quite creepy, and well written. Sellers was a master.
Agreed! It’s an anti-Sellars’ persona to Inspector Jacques Clouseau [Pink Panther]… which many, many viewers were shocked and rebelled against. However, he was an amazing (and weird)… he had imposter syndrome, lusted after Sofia Loren very visibly, and felt unseen because of his childhood and was an incredibly immature and poor father… also he molded the great Jacques Clouseau after Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. All in all, he was an actor amongst wanna be actors. We loved this. Highly recommended.
