Darren lives a seemingly normal life; his flat is a little messy and he resorts to microwave meals a little too often, but beneath his smile, a friendly exterior hides a looming addiction: He is just a normal guy, but with an abnormal reliance on scratch cards. After some success with his therapist, Darren then finds his addiction creeps up on him once again as he lies awake, mind racing at the thought of his addiction. Taunted by the sounds of scratching, he gives into the urges. A stack inches high on his table, a bin full of cards, deep in denial, Darren scratches away- consumed by the satisfaction. But a memory of a conversation with Jon throws Darren back into reality, “What would you actually do if you win?”
