Part 2: https://www.primewire.tf/movie/1404980-the-three-musketeers-milady
Pretty good adaptation. I hope they will do the second part.
I loved it but word of warning for those who do not spek or understand french. the translation subtitles are kind of wonky and besides the track a few times. Aside from that one of the most on point cinematical interpretations of the source material
How would you compare this to the TV series from a few years ago? I enjoyed that. Does this bring anything new to the table? I am an American English speaker so I’m not even used to hearing French around me since I’m not in the deep south or New England area where people speak French or Creole.
The show is good but not faithful to the book. This is closer.
thanks!
It is incredibly boring. Someone should have mentioned the director that the swashbuckler genre is supposed to be bright and fast and fun; and Three Musketeers is the genre-defining story. Instead we get this dark(in both sense), brooding, cold, slow-pace movie with terrible hand-held shaky camera action scenes. Not one decently choreographed sword fight in this movie. And it is 2 hours long, and you feel every second of it. I am really disappointed in this movie. If the director wanted to make some pseudo-Game of Thrones style historical political drama, he should have done so without dragging the beloved Dumas classic into it.
I hate having to deal with subtitles, but this adaptation of The Three Musketeers might be worth dealing with subtitles! Going on my list to watch.
