The lake man of the title is Alexis Ladouceur, a half-breed who lives in the northern part of Alberta with his mother. In this documentary, he is seen fishing, meeting neighbors, getting drunk in the nearby town, attending family celebrations, taking part in the Lac Sainte-Anne pilgrimage in central Alberta. The film also gives the viewer the opportunity to learn more on the history of half-breeds in the Canadian West. |
