Tonino Delli Colli, a man of Cinema and Cinematography, was certainly one of the greatest performers of the Arte della Luce and of photography in movement, which the Italian twentieth century was able to express on national and international screens. Through his eye, mechanical, but above all human, came images of the most talented Masters of our and others’ cinema, from the post-war period, from Pier Paolo Pasolini to Federico Fellini, passing to Sergio Leone, and Jean-Jacques Annaud to Roman Polanski, not to mention a Louis Malle and a vintage Yves Boisset. And he acquired an Academy Award at the peak of his career. A film about Tonino Delli Colli, a protagonist of the spirit and the greatness of national cinema like few others, was a duty, not only necessary to celebrate his professionalism and an artistic path, but also to give recognition to a life and a career that have marked the History of Italian Screens. |
