NO NEWS TODAY is a proof of concept short that aims to highlight socio-economic issues in modern Britain, whilst adopting the intense, almost unreal plots, of Hollywood. Your everyday man, thrown into a Hitchcockian tale of suspense and crime. Questioning how poverty drives individuals to extremities, and examining the desperation of those most in need of help. The family has been beaten down by a governmental system which makes hope seem like the only escape from poverty. This is Liverpool, where murder is a consequence of unappreciated labour; the journey of a bin-man who wants more from life than work. |
