Good movie! Opening scenes set up a nice sense of dread. A fine mix of sifi/horror, keeps it interesting all thru the flick. If yer a fan of these kind of movies you won’t be disappointed. The ending might rile up some paranoid alien conspiracy types, might settle a few down. 8/10
Thanks, etim. Based on your review I will watch this.
btw, Aliens are are not a conspiracy theory.
I was talking about their theories re: why, not if (you’ll see when you watch it).
I was only defending my species. Don’t know much about others.
I was just kidding.
Very cerebral sci-fi. Incredible little chapters creating this one story of ‘The Doors.’ This imo is a ‘watch alone.’ I had some herb and poured a drink and sat back with no expectations. 7-8/10. I recommend. live long and prosper meh trekkies.
The cinimatography imo was on point. The soundwork and soundtrack was on point - and preachy as the first segment might have been, it was very ‘relevant’ and ‘with the times.’ They then pushed the story forward with hip screencard texts which I thought was a cool and clean way to deal with exposition and keep the tone without too much shift, this kept the story, the audience and the camera focused on whats going on, whats next, and whats happening.
So the good, the bad, the ugly.. Whats good imo was the premise and the stories told (not to mention sound, visuals and atmosphere - all great.) The bad was there were certain segments that skimped on budget and effort (but didn’t take away too much at all from the overall mission which was a success imo) The ugly also has some beauty and its pointing again to budget and effects which were great for the most part maybe 8/10
so while its going to be a tiny bit obvious that they weren’t all rich and there’s little to no big names attached, they still managed to far outdo many of the ‘too big to fail’ Hollywood flops of recent years. Its definitely a ‘recommend’ and will be added to my collection of favorites which Im just starting to build on this site so follow me for more gems and reviews like this.
I attempted this film open minded and hoping it would hold my interest but unfortunately the story and delivery was lacking on too many levels. Just my personal opinion… see for yourself, it might work for you? Thanks for the upload! 3/10
ok so they almost had something but the middle school levels of trying too hard to be really, really deep, the too many cooks situation with where the plot should go and the super short and not at all imo satisfying place they go with the story just really made me not enjoy this. Maybe if you took out all the moments of “omg just get to it already”, structured what is here better and added another hr of movie to actually go somewhere with the concept it wouldnt be bad. It’s a great basis/concept that really makes u want to invest some time and attention to it but it really fell flat for me and just felt super over stylized and kitsch to the point of being annoying and almost patronizing. Like “we know u like this and want to see where it goes but we arent going to do that at all”….again this is just all just my personal opinion. I am overjoyed that others saw something here but i did not. 1/5 dont read this and decide against watching because it IS interesting but dont say i didnt warn you! :P
If you enjoy a movie that has you scratching your head muttering wtf then this is it.If you enjoy fast forwarding through dialog again this is it. and most importantly if you enjoy getting to the end of a flick and asking yourself WTF was that suppose to mean. Well then you have yourself a winner. However I will say what some people love others hate. This is one that everyone will not enjoy.
I give up. You know those movies where every one does stupid stuff?
hahaha your comment helped me decide not to watch this cuz i know u <3
Glad to help, earthangel, but mine is the worst review here.
I cant get over the vacuum cleaner hoses stuck to their helmets
Exactly! I saw those hoses in the trailer and that was the deal breaker for me.
I went into it with zero expectations and found it rather interesting, but it’s basically all about different ways of making first contact, the story doesn’t move beyond that and in the end there are no real answers. I definitely came away with a sense of WTF but it did make me think and so I would say that I rather enjoyed it.
Ye know what boulderlight pictures released a similar movie a few years ago it seems they need some og writers lol besides, watched the movie it was pure balls.
Ah HAH! I had to look into it, but I suspected the makers of “Portals” might be involved in some way with this. This one is much better than the “Portals” movie. It would be interesting if they kept honing the idea until they got it just right.
I think this approaches the same sort of notion approached by the movie “Portals”. But I like this rendition of it much better. It’s definitely quirky and weird, and not for folks who like a nice linear story. The acting is fairly good for the most part (at least after the initial scene in the school setting). It’s confusing enough to make you think, but logical enough to not eject you from the moment. It’s probably not for most folks, though. If you’re the kind of person who might like it, my description should sound intriguing to you. If you’re not, it will just sound like “weird shit”, and you should probably give it a pass. I can see why some folks don’t like it, but for me, it was a definite 4.5/5.
booooo
I get the premise of the movie but it was too disjointed to enjoy. If they’d stuck with one or two perspectives it might have been better. My only reaction after watching this was WTH did I just watch?
Boring & lame. Stupid non following story
This is definitely a weird one. It starts off with some cringe gender garbage but just move past it. After that it is a suspenseful sci-fi flick that will keep you intrigued. This is like a cross of Westworld and Annihilation with a sprinkle of Inception. Watch it for yourself because I don’t think anyone will come out with the same feelings as the next person. A shaky 7/10
The “I’m not a her” scene was so cringe and ridiculous. God that shit needs to go the way of the dodo. Also the ending was kinda a sour note on the rest of the film and the same time it wasn’t. This movie was awesome and mediocre at the same time.
Warning: if you don’t like mindless groovy trash from the 70’s, don’t waste your time. This film has no plot whatsoever. It’s just three small parts with no start nor end about stupid people who become crazy around alien monoliths, highly likely copied from Space Odyssey 2001. Looks like the writers were on heavy drugs.
A boring and pretentious attempt at achieving some sort of artistic relevance. The editing is so bad they couldn’t even correct spelling errors. I gave up before 30 minutes.
Don’t have to “GO VEGAN” All the cows I eat are already vegan, so I’m vegan by proxy..
Haha! Nice.
