Details:

In 2015, Jarabe de Palo’s vocalist Pau Donés was diagnosed with colon cancer. On 20 May, 2020, twenty days before to die, Donés did make a call to his close friend Jordi Évole (Spanish journalist famous by his TV program Salvados (2008)) from the hospital for telling his incoming death, wanting to spend his last days in his house close to Pirineos mountain range at Vall d’Aran (Lerida, Catalonia; north-east to Spain), and his desire to meet him to record a conversation to do whatever he wants with it. Invited to Donés’ house for the recording, Évole makes a sort-of last testament about a person who crossed all the borders with his music who knew how to live and die appreciating life at its fullest, and who, at the time of truth, didn’t want to leave without giving everyone his testimony of appreciation about it. Making a review of his life from his childhood with hard moments as the suicide of his mother, to the maturity to be father and the success with the greatest hit at middle 90s that it was “La Flaca” as well as others songs as “Bonito” and “Depende”, a 53 years-old Donés brings to camera a lesson of humility, vitality and joy of life including in his last moments. The result is a little movie with a great message to receive, in a feel-good legacy as the own Donés sung in his hits: the total importance to have fun, to feel alive and love friends and relatives, knowingly that no one lives forever.
