not even 30 mins in and it seems really cheesy and non realistic, I saw guys he was so called cutting across there intestines and no scratch on there clothes and if you stare at them in the back ground they get back up and start fighting again, it was just so un realistic i couldnt stand to watch anymore.. the tiny blood they tried to computer graphic show was stupid and if he was so called cutting people and stabbing them not only would they not get back up after cutting or stabbing through where their intestines are but there would be blood on his sword…. let me stab through your body and pull my sword out, i guarantee there will be lots of blood. just way too cheesy unlike the title says for me, oh im sorry, CORNY. do like the idea though and is like entertaining but if your looking for REALISTIC, then this isnt it in my personal opinion

you might have also noticed “why are all these fellas attacking one by one and mostly from the front? why dont they just rush him like a mob of rugby players? lose maybe one guy, wrestle him down and behead him”
Yes its unrealistic, but this is how japanese people film swordfights, its based on how they fight in traditional japanese theater. Its also evident in the way JRPG computer games work, guys leap in, attack, and go back to thier starting spots with no tactical movement. total bullshit you might say, ofc and thats quite true :) but thats how they do samurai swordfights its traditional.
Another factor here is this film compresses many events in the life of musashi into this single long impossible fight .. the whole thing is a bit of theater and hero worship, but is it really any more impossible than Rambo? any more absurd than wild west gunfighters who stand in the street til the stroke of noon and quickdraw?

your right, im thinking while im watching… what a bunch of woosies, they could attack him all at the same time or even two and get his sword into a hold with theirs and others attack and take his arms and legs or head off… it just was really unrealistic to me, even in the movie they were talking about killing him and stopping him, not honor and oh we want to win with honor and dignity, if he is so good then attack and kill the man. but the slicing from him onto others across their chests and them getting right back up and no blood on his sword told me right away that they have no movie realism making experience, even the chinese have that, ip man for example was a masterpiece, this movie was more like a what the hell…. dont they know what real is and cant they film real killing and actually put more money into this so that we see the samurai warrior is actually a bad ass and slicing up these weenies but nah instead they show us a fake i slice you with my samurai sword that is dull i guess and it cuts but just a scratch and no one actually getting cut deep and dieing like they should, instead they just get back up like being slapped and go at him again…. really stupid and like i said alot Unrealistic

a pocket knife across peoples stomach would open them up, you would see the slice in their clothes and blood pouring out, the taking turns thing is a japanese thing and understandable but the non realism of the cutting of his blade made it pretty stop and watch something else, there is college kids here in the usa who could have done a better job with the blood and realism i mean damn

kingarco66 1 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

even more, if they are gonna spend hundreds of guys to get him why did no one bring a bow or a musket? why not horses and spears? why not burn down his house while hes asleep? poison his food? etc etc
same reason you dont bring a gatling gun to the high noon quickdraw gunfight its just not the form of the story :)

Themoo 1 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Well they did keep referring to it as a duel in the bit before the fight scene started. So it is supposed to be just 1 on 1.

BobbyBrownFromDownTown 2 points 4 years ago.

One of the worst movies I have ever seen.
Complete garbage from the second it starts to the second of the ends.

It felt like something that was made by a YouTuber or somebody for a college course as a joke except without any humor.

I swear The 90s Power Rangers movie had better quality action that seemed more realistic than this does

MissToahine 3 points 4 years ago.

Royaltyguy 2 points 4 years ago. 2/5 stars.

In all seriousness, anyone who considers this badass or even good in the slightest simply has never watched a good samurai or kung fu movie.
