Tucked away at the end of Mulholland Drive north of Los Angeles is an old people’s and nursing home that is probably unique in the world: the retirement home of the US cinema industry. Supported by stars such as George Clooney and Michael Douglas, actors, screenwriters, directors, camera and sound engineers, cutters, agents as well as make-up and costume designers spend their retirement years here. But age cannot curb the creative urge of these silent Hollywood heroes. They continue to write and produce films in the in-house film studio. “Sunset over Hollywood” tells of the dreams and hopes of many silent, almost forgotten Hollywood heroes beyond the limelight.
