Hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles have been written about the Soviet intelligence agent Richard Sorge and his activities. As an American journalist who knew him personally, wrote, “he intentionally created an image of a playboy, almost a reveler, which was the exact opposite of the figure of a smart and dangerous intelligence officer.” Working as secretary of the German ambassador, Sorge had the most up-to-date and reliable information about the intentions of the leaders of the Third Reich, his connections in Tokyo’s high society gave him the opportunity to check and recheck the information received before sending it to the Center. The curator of the Sorge on the GRU line, Boris Gudz, the oldest Russian intelligence officer, takes part in the film. |
