Details:

In December 2004, the Integral Law against Gender Violence (LIVG) was approved in Spain with the intention of curbing the scourge of dead women at the hands of their partners. 13 years later, not only has the number of victims not fallen, but it has become clear that the LIVG has generated a serious situation of inequality between men and women. The instrumentalization of this law, which violates fundamental rights such as the presumption of innocence, silences the situation of many of its victims while the vast majority of those aware of the injustices caused by it are forced to remain silent. Professionals, experts, victims and victims, break the silence by showing a reality “silenced” that affects hundreds of thousands of people a year in Spain and that should be known by public opinion once and for all.
