His gut told him not to get in the truck and go off to a remote hunting spot with his childhood buddy. He should have listened. The reckoning begins when two former soldiers who served in Afghanistan-a war criminal and the childhood friend tapped to testify against him-set off for an afternoon of hunting in a remote area. The afternoon turns into a two-day literal and figurative nightmare as the men play a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse in a time- and mind-bending atmosphere littered by traumatic memories and the ghosts of those who died in those hills before them, as well as of murdered Afghani innocents. We watch the men, and their minds, move in and out of time and space before being confronting the ultimate reality: In war, nobody comes out alive.
