Found myself surprisingly hooked - If you like ‘Number 9’ or ‘Spaced’ you’ll enjoy this. Personally, even though just a small bit part, the guy who played the club manager was great! Takes skill to play someone as clueless as that without it seeming wooden or poorly scripted.
IMDB has this rated fairly high but I just don’t see it. It’s not very good and if I had a fast forward on the viewer I would have sped through the whole thing and wouldn’t have missed a thing. It is one of those shows drenched in symbolism which I hate because they are not very entertaining. I would not recommend it for a watch and I will definitely not be watching it again.
I agree with everything you said. Tons of ‘subtle as a train wreck’ symbolism. Heavy handed and overly complex ultimately leading one on a dreary ride going nowhere…but no doubt the producers were very pleased how clever they were being. I think they have a serious case of Twin Peaks envy. I bailed after about 20 minutes.
i lived in northampton and if this is the way people see it im glad i moved
