Every two years, Singaporean students at the University of Pennsylvania stage Sing, City!, an original musical that details the experience of coming of age in a foreign land. What does it mean to pack your bags at the age of 19 or 21 and start school 10,000 miles away from everything that is comfortable and familiar? 10,000 Miles Away From Home is a short documentary that examines the journey taken by the Singaporeans putting up the fourth edition of Sing, City!, what they bring with them to America, what they discover there, and how they forge for themselves a community, a home away from home. |
