Abscission (a combination of the latin words: ab, meaning away, and scindere, meaning to cut) is a term used in plant sciences to describe the process by which a plant drops parts of it’s organism, i.e. a leaf or a seed. In abscission we follow a woman facing her physical appearance on the surface of a lake. A cautious confrontation with the moments of silent desperation, loss and beauty inherent to the process of aging. |
