Unplugged is a dystopian short film set in a world where people become so addicted to technology, that the outside world becomes a myth. One girl, however, hacks into her building’s computer system, shutting off the power, and attempting to open the eyes of her peers to what exists beyond their computer screens. Although no one at first listens to her, soon another curious individual joins her, and together they journey to find an exit into nature. When finally reaching the outside world, the girl is again abandoned, left alone simply because a new upgraded version of a video game was released. Unplugged provokes the intriguing question: Will we know when we have gone too far? |
