There comes a time in everybody’s life when we strive to gain a better understanding of ourselves and we begin to question our place in this world. It is often a struggle to seek answers to these questions that burn within us and The Blow Of The Void is a surreal journey exploring the conflicts of a troubled mind on this quest. The film takes place in just two locations and shows one persons effort to understand the relationship between the two worlds of her inner and outer self. It shows her quest to find equilibrium in a world where chaos, angst and confusion are determined to lead her astray as a relentless battle between consciousness and the unknown rages within her. The audience is asked to imagine what it would feel like to be a prisoner of their own mind as themes of mental illness, fear and of dark and light are explored. The two locations used are a black room and a forest - both symbolizing two different worlds and states of mind. |
