Based on true events. A film produced and directed by an Amish man. Sam Wickey is related to members of the Amish who to this day, staunchly believe the Earth is flat. In this incredible story, the father wants to leave the Amish and is overwhelmed with emotion about his children being severely beaten by bullies in a public school. This strict Amish religion teaches it’s people that any form of artistic expression is of the devil. Some Amish are taught that most expressions to each other are also forbidden and they are expected to be silent about everything and in this story that includes an enigmatic mental disorder. Mother may not talk to him, mother may not comfort him, mother may not touch him. She must only pray that God heals him or casts the devil out of him. In a religion where you are forbidden to hug your children, and one child has the mind of an artistic genius, a perfect storm is created for that child to enter into an unthinkable illusion. That child has finally broken the tormenting silence in a way no one ever thought he could. That child is the writer, producer and director of this film.
