Financially strained and unable to support his family, Michael abandons his dreams of being a boxer. Turning towards a more stable job as a mechanic, he works under his oppressive father-in-law whom rekindles thoughts of Michael’s abusive trainer. For Michael, the smoke wheezing automobile shop that he works in is his secular vision of hell. Stuck in the shop throughout daylight, compared to his exhilarating experience as a prize fighter, he feels claustrophobically trapped. Unable to cope with his environment and sublimate his stress from his tense relationship at work, Michael unintentionally relays his emotions onto his young wife Anihita and his ten year old son. Cracking under pressure, Michael devises a scheme to orchestrate his father-in-law’s death in order to benefit from his rumored inheritance. |
