The world sees professional wrestling as a sideshow performance loaded with freaks, giant men in tights and a source of raunchy entertainment. But for wrestling fans, it’s a live action soap opera, a spectacle of colorful characters and an epic form of action packed storytelling. The stigma of steroids and early deaths plague the existence of professional wrestling, which thrives mainly within the company World Wrestling Entertainment. But, start up federations all over the world, made up of brand new grapplers, freelance wily veterans, and weekend warriors provide cheap entertainment for local crowds as well as a launching pad and training ground for up and coming wrestlers to hone their craft and strive to make it to the WWE. These federations are called, ‘The Indies.’ |
