The ability to effectively communicate with others is so intertwined in our fast-paced modern society that most human beings take it for granted. However, in one second, all of this can be taken away. Welcome to the world of aphasia, where trauma (induced by stroke or physical trauma) to certain areas of the left-side of the brain makes it difficult for aphasics to effectively communicate their thoughts to others. This documentary follows Dave, an aphasic, and the group of fellow aphasics that meets every Friday at the UC Davis Medical Center. Everyone has a story to tell, and ‘Talking with the Group’ allows Dave and his friends to share their own. |
