In 2009, 26-year-old Summer Kozai contracted bacterial meningitis, which left her in a coma and nearly took her life. To save her, doctors amputated all four of her limbs. After four years in hospital, Summer is finally coming home… and facing a life without arms and legs. Everyday activities she once took for granted now present mental and physical challenges that test her patience and strength at every turn. However, rather than being held back by what she lost, Summer is forging ahead, making a conscious choice to live with grace and gratitude in the face of tremendous odds. Her quest to regain independence is a testament to her spirit, reminding us that each day is a chance to prove that nothing is impossible. |
