A boy with a video camera receives a rooster for his birthday. Together they navigate the realities of tough urban life in Chicago’s Hispanic Little Village Community. Using a participatory film making approach, this short narrative film is based on the collective stories and experience of several young people from the community. This boy’s confrontation with inner-city adversity raises questions of childhood resilience and the effects of a life that keeps knocking you down. |
