Imaginative and innocent 8-year-old Oliver witnesses his grandfather having a heart attack while camping in the backyard. As his grandma calls the rest of the family to spill the shocking news that her husband is at death’s door, and while waiting for the ambulance to arrive, Death personified appears in front of Oliver’s eyes, wanting to take his grandfather away. After smartly fighting Death to give his Grandfather more time, Death gives Oliver 10 minutes to have one last moment with his Grandfather. When the timer starts, Grandpa wakes up and Oliver has to ignore all of Death’s distractions in order to enjoy one last moment with Grandpa. This short film explores the innocent mind of this young boy, fear of death, and acceptance in life through magical realism.
