War is not what Samuel had expected. It’s 1915 and sixteen year old, Samuel Dawes, finds himself at a place called Gallipoli, Turkey; during the first Australian Campaign of World War One. As Turkish snipers deter the Australian advance, and as the dead remain unburied, Samuel and his F-Company comrades are tasked with taking a small ridge, known to the men as ‘Bloody Angle’. Samuel quickly discovers the meaning of life and death in conflict, and the toll it takes on good men. |
