A reflection on political struggle, land and memory, the film follows a group of Aboriginal and West Papuan activists in their under-resourced campaign to draw attention to the Indonesian occupation of West Papua. Openly challenging the authority of the Australian and Indonesian governments, the group set out from the South Australian desert with the aim of sailing a flotilla of boats into Indonesia, reviving in the process their ancient cultural connection while drawing wider attention to their shared and ongoing battles against colonialism and genocide. |
