A Cult Influence is a short documentary on the nature of cult films, the fans, artists, distributors all asked 1 singular question…’What makes a film a cult film?’ I came upon this subject after reading Entertainment Weekly’s article ‘The Top 50 Best Cult Films’ and noticing ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ is listed right along side ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ and noticed that something was wrong. What makes a cult film may be different for each individual or does it have a concise definition. So this documentary was made to explore that simple question. ‘What makes a film a cult film?’
