Camilo Nu is a talented guitarist of Afro-Mexican descent who is propelled on a musical journey traveling through Mexico, Spain and North Africa to discover what similarities may still exist between the traditional Mexican music of Veracruz, Son Jarocho, and the music of Southern Europe, the Arab and African worlds. Sifting through rhythms, cadences and musical structures of flamencos, Moroccan Andalusian music, Sufi, Berber and the Sub-Saharan gnawa music, Camilo finds a new understanding of his own African heritage. |
