The plight of a Jewish family in Nazi-occupied Holland through the eyes of a cat. Sammy the tomcat is free to hunt out in the fields, but his Jewish owners (father, mother and child) are in hiding in the basement of their house. A Dutch family helps them flee, but occupies their house in return. Cut. 1945, the end of the war. When Sammy returns to his old home, scruffy and bedraggled, he is victimized by the gruesome new homeowner. |
