Behind the complexities of scientific adventure resides this simple story , a spiritual person plants a seed in the mind of a scientist and we sit back and watch what happens next , i like how the film unfolded in a way that i never thought it was far fetched.
First thing first, this is a slooow-burning movie. Beware! The idea behind this movie although far-fetched, was interesting to me. Reincarnation through the eyes? You don’t see that often. But unfortunately, the execution of the storyline did not live up the originality of the idea. Too many unnecessary scenes, that were too long. Michael Pitt was miscast, as far as I’m concerned. At NO POINT throughout the movie, did he come across as a scientist. And his lips kept distracting me too, not in a good way. The characters were underdeveloped for me. And the science although the backdrop to the movie, got abandoned toward the end. It never concludes, it just ended. So much more could’ve been done, once he find the girl. But more importantly to me, was Ian’s behavior. He’s basically a stalker and a kidnapper. There is NO WAY IN HELL that a WHITE man would be able to walk around freely, with a little Indian girl, without someone stopping him and ask questions. Kinda hard to relate to someone like that. And to make things worse, the movie just stops. No conclusion, no aftermath after the little girl’s discovery. It just ends. Seems to be a thing, nowadays. I hate it. So in all, it was OK. Beautifully shot, with a good idea. But it got lost on its way.
