‘Devine is Dead’ is a quirky re-enactment of Tilly Devine’s funeral. In her heyday she admitted to wearing more diamonds than The Queen of England—‘and better ones, too!’ She was a notorious crook, brothel owner, prisoner and prostitute; this vicious woman gave the good citizens hell. So does a person who has lived a life of defiance get to repent in the end? Is Tilly Devine going to heaven, or to hell? |
