Innocently fooled to come to the United States as a domestic worker, Mei Li, a teenager from rural China, is thrusted immediately by the cunning Triad boss, Wu Chen, into a profitable niche sex trafficking ring of young Asian candy bars. While struggling to assimilate to her new environment, Mei Li meets Rie, the alpha female of the brothel who lays down the law, only to find out that Mei Li has a charm that reminds her of her younger pre-loss humanity days. While Mei Li looses herself within the confines, Rie allows Mei Li into her life, creating a bond that allows Rie to sacrifice herself in order to help save Mei Li before its too late. Meanwhile, Mei Li learns to survive without the crutch of Rie, with a final face off with Wu Chen, Mei Li learns to not be fooled by his deceit and show no mercy to the man who gave her hell. |
