Malerversted is an experimental art film that aims to document that process of painting. With its slow pace and scarcity of any sound, the film provides the time and environment necessary for a painting to unfold on screen. It can be said that this is no ordinary documentary as it distances itself from the notion of explaining but rather attempts to provide a space where the audience can participate in the artistic experience. The Malerversksted is a painting workshop and initiative for disabled individuals based in the Vidarasen, camphill community in southern Norway. The workshop began in 2009 and is run by artist Hannes Weigert. |
