Eavesdropping on Souls: A journey into Haitian Arts. The primary objective of the documentary is to bring to the screen, a beauty hitherto unknown of Haiti: Haitian Arts. The second goal would be to help young Haitians, particularly those born abroad, from Haitian parents, and who never have seen or heard anything beautiful about their parents’ country and heritage. The documentary explores Haitian Arts in two ways: 1) by showing young Haitians in learning situation from adults, Haitian and non Haitian; and by doing so, come into contact with Haitian Arts. These young adults explore schools of thought in Haitian painting and some common themes in painting and community life. At the same time, Haitian artists, from different styles reflect and discuss about arts in Haitian context. |
