Details:

This short documentary showcases the work, thoughts and feelings of eight disabled artists interviewed and filmed in July and August 2011 as they prepared for the ‘Perception’ Exhibition held at the Belconnen Arts Centre in the Australian Capital Territory in November-December 2011. Artists disabilities include:Autism, Aspergers Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Colour Blindness, Depression and Anxiety, Mental Health, Multiple Sclerosis, Neurological conditions, and Physical damage from bush fire exposure. Art forms used by these inspiring artists include: painting, photography, collage, montage, quilting and paper making. The theme of the Exhibition was ‘Perception’ and showcases the breadth and diversity of arts and disability practice and helps to challenge audience perceptions of what is possible. The artists talk candidly about their ‘perceptions’ of themselves and their art.
