The film is about a solitary male Japanese high school student who thinks he can get into a relationship with his classmate, ends up killing both the girl and her boyfriend due to the envious feeling. The film portrays the psychological status of a introverted teenager through numbers of abstract metaphors, cultural symbolism, and abnormal inserts. The film includes the characteristic of the ‘locked room game’ to make audiences think and share the similar feelings with the character. There are numbers of advance hints in the first half of the film, that are related to the mysteries of the locked room and the protagonist’s negative feelings. |
