A journey through the Amazon, a dialogue between reason and insanity. A scientist talks about the Amazon, its complexity and the challenges it faces, whilst another woman, who claims to have been born from a sheep’s womb, believes the future lies in God’s hands and says science doesn’t exist Fernando took Michel Foucault’s ‘Madness and Civilization’ along with him, a book he was unable to finish on previous attempts. The book describes the historical associations between water and madness, including boats laden with insane people who were dropped off at far away ports. Instead, hearing how people imagined a perfect world, he tore out the pages and let them fall into the Amazon, to return to nature and the waters that famously nourish all life on Earth. |
