The short-film KING features scenes shot at a kids’ Muay Thai tournament. Children between the age of 7 and 12 are set to fight each other on a ring, amidst parent cheer leading. The narrative being utilized intends to reach beyond a more traditional documentary approach, focusing on recreating this situation’s particular atmosphere instead of merely describing it. The film’s spectator becomes one of the fights’ spectators as well. In this way, he is instigated to decide by himself the boundaries between education, entertainment, sports and violence. |
