Failing a suicidal attempt & facing a bullet, Faiz, a sensitive man forgets his identity, religion, relations & embarks on a journey to discover himself; in this journey for enlightenment he meets his ex-flame, Sanchari, who tries to make him accept himself as he was, that he declines. On a remote village road Faiz then meets an aspirant young actor Anuj who wants to be a movie-star. Faiz discloses himself as RAMSWARAN & joins in a cycle journey through frozen time where he discovers Gautama-the Buddha in an old Buddhist shrine; in this search for route & humanity Faiz then faces the bold & daring Tania, a runaway mother of two in wanderlust, on a small lonely railway station. Faiz becomes JOSEPH to her & in an eye opening boat journey with some very poor tribal coal poachers they discover India & Bharat -the light & darkness of a nation. Next, we find him in the early dawn in front the vast ocean, sitting and thinking alone on the rocks. It gradually evokes that ‘life’ has no meaning- It is ‘WE’ who give meaning to it by our own DEEDS & DREAMS & it is THE ESSENCE OF ALL. Accidentally he again meets Sanchari gliding down the sky, as if sent from the heavens. The film ends with a group dance in a festival where rich & poor ,old & new participates & in this celebration of life ‘DHAAK’ THE INDIAN DRUM- goes on & on & on. |
