An unexplained semi-apocalyptic event provides the backdrop for a corporate establishment controlled society in which the population dwindles and fights for survival. The state controls the remaining population, treating them as if they were property. This desolate place is a world that failed at life long ago, and along with it - Keith. Keith is a demoted secret police Detective; an alcoholic. He’s in the hands of Dr. Greyson, a corporate political surveillance supervisor and senior secret police agent. Rapidly aging, lost and broken, Keith faintly clings to the past and the life he once had. Having lost his family through his own vice, Keith despairs in his own self pity and obsessively tries to reconnect with his estranged family, without success. Now, in his new downgraded role as surveillance operative he discovers Ingrid, his latest prescribed target. She reminds him of someone who he cares about. What will Keith do now? Will he carry out the will of the ever-present state as a subjugated secret policeman? Or does he discover something that drags him out of his drab lifelessness and leads him to act? |
