In 2008, on a spontaneous trip to the Mekong Delta, filmmaker Rob Hillstead is confronted by the harsh reality of Cambodia’s poverty and the continuing aftermath of the 1976-1979 Pol Pot genocide. This bombardment of cultural and cognitive dissonance can only be described as trauma tourism. Rob narrates a personal account of his experiences through a series of creatively interpreted photos and videos of his trip. |
