A voice takes you on a journey to Beijing where we meet Mr. Chen, Ms. Jia and Ms. Zhao. All of them share a similar background, they live or once lived in the Hutong residential area. While we visit them we learn why they once wanted to leave that place, and why sometimes they still miss it. A Beijing Tale is a video letter about Chinese people who trade in their old cultural heritage for a more modern way of life. We learn what kind of impact this decision has on their Chinese identity while they reflect back on their home and the future of Beijing. |
