In July 2010, following the heavy monsoon rains one-fifth of Pakistan’s total land submerged in water. The flood has affected about 20 million people and caused massive destruction of property, crops, livelihood and infrastructure, with a death toll of 2,000. The flood gave birth to a new crime patronized by influential people. ‘My Name is Naji’, a short film story written, produced and directed by Shoieb Yunus, depicts the story of a 10 year old boy named Naji who falls into the hands of wrong people and forced into male prostitution. |
