Scratch begins with the meeting of three strangers, Nicholas, Edward and Stephanie. Having only ever communicated through the internet before, they meet for the first and what they intend to be the last time to help each other fulfill a need. Nicholas wants to go to prison for murder, Edward wants to kill and Stephanie wants to die. By coming together they can each ‘scratch’ the back of another individual. Edward has been the driving force in arranging this, having found Stephanie as someone who is willing to be killed, and Nicholas as someone who is willing to take the blame for Stephanie’s murder. For Edward, this will be the perfect murder. Each of the have their reasons for wanting to be part of this deadly scheme, but although the perfect murder is seemingly in reach things do not go exactly to plan. When the reality of the situation sinks in, both Nicholas and Stephanie begin to have second thoughts about the planned murder. This then creates a very dangerous situation in which Edward’s perfect murder can very quickly become a double murder with no fall guy. |
