Beth and Jeff a young married couple have two young children who appear to have gone missing. At first nothing appears to be out of the ordinary until Beth begins to act strange. Beth in a fit of psychotic rage murders her husband. Det. Dunn and Det. Barrow investigate a brutal triple homicide in the bathroom of a suburban family. Barrow is extremely causal about this, while Dunn is shocked by the senseless violence. The two leave the crime scene and upon hearing a radio call Barrow freezes; realizing that another homicide (code 187) has been called in from the residence of one of his old friends: Jeff. A flashback confirms this relationship. “It wouldn’t be funny if it happened to someone you know”
