For over forty years, world renowned artist Chris Burden has pushed the limits of sculpture, establishing himself as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary art. His provocative performances in the early 1970’s shook the art world and have since become iconic. Over the next three decades Burden continued to redefine sculpture with a series of acclaimed assemblages, installations and kinetic works. This film takes an in depth look at the creation of perhaps Burden’s most visually exciting work, Beam Drop Antwerp. The piece is massive, violent thought provoking, beautiful and dangerous. The film documents the piece’s creation from every possible angle, placing the viewer right at the heart of the action. |
